Summer Fun Tips and Tricks for Recreational Facilities

1. Let the community know which recreational facility is open, including when and to whom: such as the pickleball courts, tennis courts, pool, hot tub and bocce courts are open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to all residents.
2. Make sure swim times suit the community. It is important to ensure that everybody's interests are respected. For example, kids’ hours should be when they are awake.
3. Be clear on clothing requirements. Ensure that clothing requirements are culturally diverse and acceptable.
4. Be on be clear on diaper requirements for both adults and children alike.
5. Ensure that hygiene rules are clear and are abided by in accordance with municipality requirements.
6. Make sure that all rules are in force in effect before the season.
7. Know the limits on ratios between adults and children to ensure safety.
8. Define who needs to be accompanied with an adult and define adult.
9. Ensure that signage confirms if no lifeguards are present.
10. Ensure that dangerous conditions, such as glass on pool decks, are clearly prohibited and enforced.
