Draft Regulations Now Available

As a follow up to our monthly Newsletter and Article written by Victor Yee of February 16, 2017, regarding the New Proposed Regulations Under the Condominium Act, 1998, we would like to notify you know that the Ontario Government has released a summary and overview of the proposed draft regulations under the Protecting Condominium Owners Act, 2015 (PCOA) on February 14, 2017 and are now posted on the Regulatory Registry.

The first phase of the proposed changes focuses on 4 areas which include, Communications, Director Qualifications & Disqualifications, Meetings & Voting, and Records.  Many of the changes are planned to take effect on July 1, 2017.

The plain language summary previously released remains available.

The government is welcoming feedback on or before March 30th, 2017.  Timelines are tight but we encourage you to let the government know what you think.
